The San Diego post-hardcore quartet is back with their latest album "Misadventures" after a four-years long hiatus. This band that has gained millions of fans throughout the years again proved their undeniable talent and mad instrument skills.

"Misadventures" consists of 11 songs is less heavier than Collide with The Sky in terms of sound yet didn't stray away from Pierce The Veil's music aesthetic. According to Vic (vocal, rhythm guitar), they made this record wanting to top the last one like they always do every single time.

Fun fact: Each song has their own true story and an illustration with meanings to accompany it. The cover of "Misadventures" is a combination of all illustrations that represent every song in the album.

This goes to show that the band actually meant what they produced instead of only chasing for the fame and fortune which they have made clear in the song The Divine Zero (third track).

Pierce The Veil will be on tour starting this June and let's hope they will announce a South East Asia tour as well because we're sure some of you can remember how epic it was when they came to Malaysia with Sleeping with Sirens in 2013, right?

This New York three-piece band formed in 2012 is exactly what you need on gloomy, rainy days. The band consists of Joe Valle, Kelly Zutrau and Marty Sulkow. Their music can be described as indie with a tinge of The XX, except they are less space-y and have stronger and more solid bass that will have you blasting the stereo. The released of their EP consisting of 4 songs (You're the Best, Dreams, No Lie, I Don't Wanna Be Your Girl) is guaranteed to hit you straight to the heart and instantly leave you craving for more.


Founded in 2012, Jagwar Ma is a band whose music is a mixture of alternative, indie and dance. The Australian duo debuted with Howlin' and even performed during Urbanscapes 2014. Their captivating and experimental sound will get your into a somehow psychedelic state (seriously). With that said, our pick for the perfect sweater weather soundtrack from these lads would be Backwards Berlin.


This beautiful woman is no longer a foreign figure in the global music scene. Her cinematic sound is influenced by the 50's and 60's and her lyrics are raw, sexual, dark, romantic and exciting. One of the things that makes her an incredible singer is her expansive vocal range; she could switch from sounding high and girlish in her timbre to low and jazzy with ease. She has also just released her latest album Honeymoon yesterday. Our suggestion is, go listen to all her slow-tempo songs like Brooklyn Baby because her gravy voice is just perfect to accompany you on rainy days.



This rising 21 year-old singer is catching hearts with her pop, slightly dark but honest music. At first hearing of her official single “Ghost” from latest album Badlands, she sounds a little bit like Lauren Mayberry but as you progress through her songs you could identify the differences in her tone and huskier voice. As a biracial, Halsey (an anagram of her birth name, Ashley) took music influences from both of her parents, resulting in a more diverse sound that is relatable to listeners out there. She's not afraid to speak what's on her mind and can get rough with it. Besides having a great fashion sense, this mermaid-like beauty has also disprove the misconceptions of mental illness as she is on her way to be the next-big thing in the music industry even though she suffers from bipolar disorder. All we know is, the world better get ready for her. 



The duo consists of Tyler Joseph (vocal, piano) and Josh Dun (drums) from Ohio is known for their undefinable music genre, hardcore piano, howling vocal and fast rap. They have inspired other musicians in so many ways that most of them including those in the UK have chosen their latest album ‘Blurryface’ as one of the best album produced in 2015. Listeners can never guess where the next beat will take its turn in each of their song. The duo has always been known for creating songs about life, the outcasts and for those battling with mental illnesses. We dare say they are lyricists, with metaphors those who truly able to relate can understand. Twenty One Pilots are simply exceptional; a mix of everything great.


Last Dinosaurs is a band originated from Brisbane, Australia who debuted with "In A Million Years" in 2012. Their tunes can be described as catchy with intros that will stuck in your head like their songs 'Zoom' and 'Andy'. Even though they are still underrated, those who love indie-pop sound will love these boys. ICYMI, the band has performed at The Bee last year. Recently, the band released 'Evie' as a single from their latest album "Wellness". You can tell that there is not much difference in terms of sound and melody arrangement, probably because they are maintaining their cool, laid-back but danceable tunes. Well, the new album will be out this 28th of August so make sure to feed your ears with them!

Local hardcore band based in Kuala Lumpur, Lost Control has recently released a new track including a music video entitled "Evil Hands". The track was taken from the newly released EP entitled "Spreading Necrosis" which also features Rat Path (Seattle) in the song called 'Wasteland'.

The release was the first goal the band aim to achieve and it is proven to be a success based on the feedback they have been getting.

Besides that, the band which is under the Grave Stone Records is also doing a split EP with State of Pain from Singapore.


Formed in 2012, the band consists of Aiman Aizzat, Shahrel Rafiqin and Ezzat Syahmi which was then joined by Anis Anwary and Syukri Rahmat in 2013. They have been performing throughout peninsular Malaysia over the years and have been getting more recognition as well as fans from the scene. 

When asked about the story behind the band's name, they told us that they were trying to come up with something chaotic and disordered but at the same time simple and direct. Thus, the name Lost Control.


Driven by every band that did not succumbed or surrender to live up to society's standard and those who are true to themselves, these young gentlemen are musically influenced by old school metal bands, sludge and hardcore.

So if you're down for a really good headbanging and brutal moshing session, you better prepare yourself for their dirty and loud tunes packed with aggressive elements that will blow your brains off!

A local star on the rise, OJ Law is filling our radio stations with his catchy melodies and groovy vibes. This multi-talented singer/songwriter is definitely getting himself a wider fan base by the minute because well, he deserves it! Last year, he was invited to perform for Urbanscapes and the crowd obviously could not stop themselves from dancing to his infectious beat (just to show how good his music really is). This soulful musician who usually performs with a keyboard or a guitar has recently released his third album entitled “Let’s Be Adult”. His current hit single ‘Introvert’ will get you hooked instantly! Our other favourites include Tongue-Tied and Fantastic Adventure featuring Liyana Fizi.



As stated on his Facebook bio, Ali Aiman is a self-made brand synonymous with musical artistry. Just like OJ Law, he made his big debut by performing at Urbanscapes last year. This underrated talent graduated with 1st Class Honours in Contemporary Writing and Production from Berklee College of Music. If that doesn’t wow-ed you enough, he is also a master on the piano and trumpet. Ali Aiman started turning heads (and ears) over his EP ‘Overture’ and has recently released a new music video for ‘Breathe’. So, what are you waiting for? OMG if you don’t know the legendary OAG. 90’s kids literally grew up listening to them especially when the band started gaining fans after releasing their single ‘Slumber’ in 2002. Their music was very much anticipated afterwards and the album Satelit Ink gave fans exactly what they are expecting for-- soothing vocals with poetic lyrics and harmonious melody such as Akustatik and Permysuri. One can never get enough of them (yes, even until now). Currently, OAG consist of frontman Radhi, Nazrin, Azzam, Afiq and Izmer. They are now working on new materials so let’s hope it will be out in no time!




Formed in 2004, Bittersweet rises as one of the pioneers of pop-rock bands during the emergence of indie music in Malaysia. This band consists of four brilliant musicians; Herri (guitar, vocals), Emai (keyboards/synths, vocals), Fizan (lead vocals) and Moon (guitar, vocals). They have toured Indonesia, Singapore and of course this motherland itself and probably have the most devoted fans ever. Aside from the catchy Capital E and crunchy Kucing Hitam, their song ‘Going into the Black Hole’ was selected as one of the soundtracks for KAMI the movie. Originated from Ipoh, these lads combine multiple elements such as pop, indie rock and punk into their music that are influenced by Oasis, The Stone Roses, and The Beatles. With third album in the making, we are definitely excited for it!


Nanna Oland Fabricius a.k.a Oh Land, Danish born beauty started her career in 2008 with "Fauna" and "Oh Land" released as a follow-up album. She stopped being a ballet dancer after suffering from slipped disc and spinal fracture. Nanna then decided to channel her creativity and love for self-expression through music. This multitasking musician is getting more exposure on her experimental music that has led to "Wish Bone" (2012) and "Earth Sick" (2014). Suggested songs: Sun of a Gun, Perfection, Cherry on Top.



Originally known as 21 Demands, this Irish rock band gained recognition when their song "Give Me a Minute" topped the Irish Chart Singles in 2007. Currently consists of Steve Garrigan, Mark Prendergast, Vinny May and Jason Boland, they decided to change the name in 2011 and came out with the album "In a Perfect World" a year later which got them worldwide listeners. The band dropped a new album last December entitled "Coming Up for Air" and trust us, they are only getting better and better. Suggested songs: One Day, High Hopes, Honest.



This new Malaysian electro pop duo is taking the industry by storm through their flavourful sound. Even though both Eff and Faliq are still young, they have shared stage with big international names during Urbanscapes and Singapore Laneway Festival. It’s obvious that they are about to conquer the music scene in no time! Suggested songs: Gold, Heart Drum.



This UK rock band consisting of five members started their career in 2010. According to Big Cheese Magazine, the band is a healthy dosage of sugary youth-rock with melodious vocals together with crystal clear riffs, catchy beats and light-hearted sing-a-long lyrics. They are also working with Max Helyer from YMAS in their upcoming album due out this Spring/Summer. Suggested songs: Gone, Blood, If You're Going Down (I'm Going with You)



At first hearing you can say that they kinda resemble Dead by April mainly because this band catches listeners with high-energy, technical riffs and distinctive howling vocals. Even though they are still a tad bit underrated, we assure alternative rock lovers out there will enjoy their sound. Suggested songs: Cutting Room Floor, Speak to Me, These Streets are Alive
